As a Holistic Health Consultant and Private Chef, I practice a lifestyle that includes a very pure diet.  But no matter how “clean” you eat, toxins, metals and all sorts of junk accumulate in the body, which can lead to accelerated aging, energy loss, major diseases and a general feeling of ick.
FACT:  Every day your body builds cells and kills cells, and the goal to optimum health and looking smoking hot is to build more healthy cells than you kill.  Toxins Kill.  Nutrients Build.

So … even if you have lived off the purest foods this entire year, a) in this day and age the air you breathe and water you drink (even with a purifier) are full of pollution and toxins; and b) the food supply (yes, even organic) is full of additives, pesticides, hormones, etc. that adversely affect (and sometimes destroy) the nutrients in our foods.

For example:  Your skin absorbs toxins from the air, as well as from your skin and cleaning products.  Your muscles store negative thoughts and stress.  = Internal Toxic Environment.
Please don’t think that you can take a handful of vitamins each day and be set—your body gets rid of most of that as vitamins are recognized best by the body in food form.
If you could see the internal state of your body, it would probably be a lot like walking into a dirty kitchen—dishes piled up in the sink, 2-week-old pizza laying out on the counter, sour milk and moldy leftovers in the refrigerator, and perhaps even some unwanted six-legged guests.  It’s not a pretty sight, and your first reaction would be to scream: “Ewwwwww!  Grosssssss!  HELP!!!!!!

Just like the dirty kitchen, what your body needs every so often is a good cleanse.
WHY CLEANSING IS SO BENEFICIAL:
– Rids the body of toxins, metals and junk
– Prevents disease and illness
– De-bloats so fat melts off
– Increases energy and concentration
– Aids better sleep, steadier mood
– Rids the body of cravings for junk like sugar, fried foods and cheese

– 9 times out of 10, people gain the weight and toxic build-up back because they have chosen an extreme cleanse that is not sustainable to carry their new healthy body forward.
– As I said, you need nutrients to build healthy cells, and lots of cleanses do not provide enough nutrients to do this.
– Cleanses can starve the body and slow your metabolism

– If you are already on a cleanse
My parents went on a 61-day juice cleanse (they added a day because they lost track!), and while for a short time they looked the best I have ever seen them look, they later gained all the weight and digestive blockage back, and then some.
